Main Campus
Our 56–building main campus, located in southern Chester County in Pennsylvania, is an oasis amid rolling farmlands and wooded hilltops. Our rural setting is within about an hour of several major cities: 45 miles from Philadelphia; 55 miles from Baltimore; and in Delaware, 25 miles from Wilmington and 15 miles from Newark.

The University also maintains a satellite campus in Philadelphia where the School of Adult & Continuing Education (SACE) is located. This location is housed in a six-story and offers select undergraduate and graduate programs in human services, education, and business.

Via Car
From the Philadelphia area, via U.S. Route 1:
- Take U.S. Route 1 from either Baltimore Pike or City Line Avenue and continue south until you approach the sign for Kennett Square.
- Continue on U.S. Route 1, heading south for 13 miles,
- Take the Route 896 / New London / Russellville exit.
- From the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 896 and proceed to the flashing red light at Baltimore Pike.
- Turn right and proceed south for approximately one mile. Lincoln University is on the left.
From Washington D.C., Baltimore, MD, and other areas to the south:
- Take Interstate 95 (John F. Kennedy Turnpike) north to Exit 100: Route 272 / Rising Sun / Northeast, MD.
- After taking Exit 100, turn left onto Route 272 heading north and continue into Pennsylvania.
- After crossing the PA state line, continue for approximately 1 mile and then turn left at the sign indicating the continuation of Route 272 north.
- After approximately 3 miles, turn right onto U.S. Route 1 (by-pass) and head north for 8 miles.
- Take the Route 896 / New London / Russellville exit. From the exit ramp, turn right onto Route 896 and proceed to the flashing red light at Baltimore Pike.
- Turn right and proceed south for approximately one mile. Lincoln University is on the left.
From New York / New Jersey:
- Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 2: Route 322 West / Chester.
- At the end of the exit, turn left and follow Route 322 West for 7 miles to the Commodore Barry Bridge. (If you travel Interstate Highway 295 south, then take the Chester / Commodore Barry Bridge / Route 322 West exit.)
- After crossing the bridge, stay to the left and follow the exit onto Interstate 95 (PA) south.
- Remain in the right lane and follow the signs for Route 322 West. Take Route 322 West all the way to U.S. Route 1 south and then turn left at the intersection.
- Follow U.S. Route 1 south for 10 miles until you reach the sign for Kennett Square. At this point, please refer to the first set of directions above, starting with the second sentence.
From Harrisburg and other areas to the west:
- Travel Route 283 East to Route 30 towards Philadelphia.
- Turn right on Route 896 South and go approximately 22 miles until you cross over Route 1.
- Turn right at the flashing red light onto Old Baltimore Pike and go one mile. Lincoln University is on the left.
Via Bus/Train
The SCCOOT bus line is the only public transportation available around Lincoln University. It connects the University to Oxford, Avondale, West Grove, Toughkenamon, Kennett Square, Longwood Gardens, and West Chester. It also connects to the Krapf’s A Bus, which can take you to the Exton Amtrak Station and SEPTA 104, which can take you to the 69th Street Transportation Center in Philadelphia.
Both transportation services can be picked up at the West Chester Transportation Center from SCCOOT. The service runs Monday through Friday and is $2.00 to $4.00. You can view schedules at www.chescobus.com or call 610-993-0911 with questions.

The closest Amtrak train station is in Parkesburg. Train and bus stations are also located in Wilmington, Delaware (about 25 miles away).
